The Capital Area District Libraries (CADL) is a system of 13 libraries located in Ingham County.

The Downtown Lansing branch, located at 401 South Capitol Avenue, closed on December 31, 2016 for renovations.

The remodeling process is now complete, and will reopen on Monday, March 13.

Some of the new features includes an open floor plan, first and second floor service desks that will combine information and circulation services, study rooms, new carpet and furniture, tables with power and USB plugins, and an updated lobby and restrooms.

"This is an exciting time, " says CADL Downtown Lansing Head Librarian Kathy Johnson.

"I hope people will come and see the upgrades," said CADL Executive Director Maureen Hirten. " I think they are going to be surprised."
