Lansing Board of Water and Light says crews will be working around the clock to restore power to the 7,200 customers still without. The BWL hopes most customers will have power by today or Friday.
At the height of Wednesday's wind storm, more than 20,000 customers were without power. Statewide, the windstorm caused nearly 1 million outages at its peak.
The BWL says an issue with its outage map Wednesday night caused it to not function properly for about 4 hours. General Manager Dick Peffley is apologizing to any customers who had difficulty tracking restoration efforts during that time. Peffley says a new outage map is slated to launch in early 2018 and is expected to address the issues that caused the malfunction.
