The Lansing Board of Water and Light is wanting to warn customers of a new phone scam going around.
Several customers have reported getting calls saying they will lose their service if they do not pay up using a pre-paid debit card.
The call starts with an automated message the scammers recorded from the BWL that asks the person to connect to a person and make an immediate payment.
Both residential and commercial customers have been targeted.
