Almost all web-based customer services have been restored by the Lansing Board of Water and Light since a cyber attack nearly two weeks ago.
A BWL spokesman told FOX 47 News Thursday that its outage map, outage reporting portal and e-services portal are back and operating. The utility's internal e-mail system should be restored by Friday.
None of BWL's power generating systems was affected.
BWL's web capabilities were crippled by a cyber attack on April 25. Cyber criminals infected the system and demanded an undisclosed ransom.
The BWL spokesman won't disclose if the ransom has been paid, citing a criminal investigation and insurance concerns. He says the attack is similar to ones seen from hackers in eastern Europe.
