It's not an ice storm, but with high winds expected for the holiday, local residents and utilities are preparing.
The strong winds are bringing down power lines across Mid-Michigan, and causing power outages.
There have been numerous reports of this happening overnight.
Consumers Energy is now reporting 475 outages in Eaton County, 235 in Jackson County, 58 in Ingham County, and 57 outages in Clinton County.
The utility tells us crews will be out most of the day working to restore service.
