Lansing Board of Water and Light customers want to see the aging Eckert Power Station replaced by a natural gas plant -- even though it will probably result in higher electric rates.
The board of water and light released the results of a survey.
64 % of residential customers, and 71% of businesses support the natural gas option.
That drops to 47 and 56-percent respectively when those rates would go up.
Eckert will close by the year 2020.
The BWL will announce replacement plans later this year.
