OKEMOS, Mich. — Mr. Robb is an Okemos bus driver and made a music video to help raise money for the Capital Area Literacy Coalition.

"We started playing the video every Friday when we give candy because they give the kids candy on Fridays, so they wanted to hear the song I wrote. I started playing that with it every Friday and, what happened was one of the kids said, 'Mr. Robb, why don't you make a music video?' And so, 'Ok. Mr. Robb wanted the video to show how much fun he has with his students.

"We talked about it and made a storyboard beforehand and wanted to give it a feel like the old Monkeys videos from the '60s -- real silly and fast action with silly motions and all the thing the used to do. Cute and funny. I used to love them as a kid and thought my kids would love them," Blankenhorn said.

He not only gives candy to his kids, but he also plays games with them.

"We always used to play the silent game on Fridays and he would always have this funny rhyme that always had to do with it. It was so funny," said 9-year-old Piper Williams.

"Mr. Robb takes a real personal interest with his kids. Like he mentioned to you, he's had them and picks the same route year after year and has had them since at a young age and has seen them grow up and is involved in their daily lives," said Todd Sharpe, Okemos Schools transportation director.
