The open burning ban in Delhi Charter Township and Alaiedon Township has been reinstated as of July 22, 2016 due to weather conditions.
"This ban does not apply to grilling or cooking using charcoal, wood, propane or natural gas in cooking or grilling appliances," according to a press release from Brian Ball, Fire Chief of the Delhi Township Fire Department.
The Department of Natural Resources within the State of Michigan has also issued a "Very High Fire Danger" for the two townships, meaning "it is not safe for recreational burning or brush burning."
