A bullet was fired into the Lutheran Social Services building in Jackson Thursday afternoon. No one was hurt. The building is located in the 700 block of West Michigan Avenue, just west of downtown Jackson.
Police tell FOX 47 News that an employee there reported hearing a noise like a gunshot, and then a ceiling tile fell to the floor. Police investigated and did locate a bullet. Initially police thought the bullet may have been fired from a height, perhaps a tall building across the street, but preliminary evidence indicates the bullet was fired from ground level.
No arrests have been made. Police continue to investigate.
