Budget battle leaves schools in limbo

Children across the state are being put in the battle between Governor Whitmer and state lawmakers.

State law requires school budgets to be done by July 1.

However, schools have no idea how much funding they'll have, because the governor and the legislature do not have a budget yet.

One of the major sticking points is fixing Michigan's roads.

Governor Whitmer wants a 45-cent gas tax.
