LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - Admission proceeds goes to cancer survivors and current patients.
And also the vendors are pitching in to help.
"Some of them donate to the organization, the artists a lot of them have donated their time and resources to help make this event what it is"
Shirley is a two time breast cancer survivor, who wants to bring hope for those fighting cancer.
"And let them know that just because you have cancer does not mean that's a death sentence, its a restart, its a next chapter, whatever you wanna call it, just dont hold onto I got cancer."
Having walked that mile herself,the foundation extends themselves beyond patient advocacy.
Offering iminate needs such as clothing for those going through treatment.
"Help with their phone bill, or groceries we help with that"
Cancer hits home for many of the vendors.
They told me it was important to come out this weekend and support.
"Checking off some of my bucket-list, I came by to help my cousin Shirley by vending my jewelry. We're a big family, but we're close knitted."
In addition to supporting cancer, Texas Jacks Barbeque was there to raise money for family who were affected by storm Harvey. And what better place to do it than at a festival
