Last year the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) opened their membership to female scouts in Cub Scouts. In February, females can become members of BSA female troops and can even earn the rank of Eagle Scout- an opportunity to all females that was previously closed to females in the US. This falls inline with Scouting worldwide which has been co-ed for some time.
It is the hope of the BSA to provide opportunities to each girl that wants to participate in these activities. In the Lansing area there are already female Dens in our Packs in Okemos and Haslett. In February the area will have a female Troop in Okemos and Haslett.
