A 9-year-old boy is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Vevay Twp.
It happened around 4 p.m. Sunday on the 2400 block of Hawley Road, according to the Ingham County Sheriff's Office. The boy was trying to cross the road when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The driver in the accident, a 53-year-old man from the Mason area, was not injured.
Police are investigating. They do not believe alcohol was a factor.
