Boil-water advisory issued for Vermontville

and last updated

The Village of Vermontville has issued a boil-water advisory effective immediately because of a water main break. The break lead to a loss of pressure that could have allowed bacterial contamination in the water supply.

People on the Vermontville water system should not drink the water without boiling it first. It should be brought to a boil for one minute then allowed to cool before using. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food.

The village says the advisory was issued as a precaution. It will stay in effect until testing shows the water is safe. Customers will be notified when that happens. Stay with News 10 and wilx.com for updates.
