A water main break on Monday, June 11, has prompted a boil water advisory for Albion.
All schools were closed on Tuesday with only staff reporting.
The city is working on the problem and hopes to have it resolved by June 15.
Do not drink the water in case of contamination. Bring all water to a boil, let it cool and then you can drink it; or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice cubes, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food.
The city says this is a precautionary action due to a loss of water pressure in the water distribution system that was caused by the water main break on Monday.
Flushing and collecting of samples from the water system will be performed to determine water quality.
Residents will be informed when the tests show that it is safe to again drink the water and the need for boiling is over.
