Grand Rapids Police are defending officers after facing criticism for how they treated a 12 year-old girl on the scene of a reported shooting.

They are now releasing body camera video of the incident.

Police say the cuffs were on her for less than two minutes, and say what happened on the scene was an effort to keep everyone safe.

In a 911 call, someone is heard saying "no, don't do it" shot then rang out.

Police say this does not need to be a race issue, but a County Commissioner is now planning a march.

The All Kids Matter march is scheduled for this Saturday afternoon at the police headquarters.
