Black applicants in the Greater Lansing area were more than three times as likely to be denied a home mortgage as white applicants in 2016.
That's according to a report released today by the Center for Investigative Reporting.
The non-profit found a similar pattern in 61 metro areas across the United States, including Detroit. The year-long analysis is based on 31 million records.
