In response to the ongoing negativity we've seen around the country, this anti-hate rally aims for everyone to stand together in solidarity.
This rally put on by Black Lives Matter of Lansing was a push in protest to normalize and elevate white supremacy in our country, by...
"Bringing together the majority....the majority is the people who actually believe in love and peace and justice and actually wanting to create a self and welcoming community for everyone and this is who you see here and who embraces and loves everyone."
The message to take away here was love and support of equality.
"We are fighting for our rights, we are fighting for equality, we have a group of people who don't believe in equality and one of them is in the white house, we gotta find some change in this country, we have to find a way to make sure that people who don't believe in equality don't have any role in leadership, there no place for them."
Given organizers only had 24 hours to plan Saturday's event, over 200 people is the last thing they expected.
Showing hate has no place in mid-Michigan.
"The turnout is beautiful, people responded immediately and began sharing out, lots of love and solidarity for those who got the message too late are watching through Facebook live and sharing it out with people, really great turn out"
This large crowd has gathered here in order to push forward the agenda of equality until the debates in September.
