LANSING, Mich. — People in jail on marijuana charges would get a second chance under a bill just introduced in the State House.
The legislation would reduce prison, parole, and probation sentences of people convicted of possessing pot.
In order for a reduction to be considered some steps would have to be met.
The bill's sponsor says there's no reason to keep these non-violent criminals locked up especially since they wouldn't be arrested for the same thing now that recreational marijuana is legal.
