State lawmakers will be discussing a bill that bans minors from buying or possessing e-cigarettes.
The legislation would add the vapor and alternative nicotine products to the Youth Tobacco Act.
Senator Rick Jones of Grand Ledge says the measure would close a loophole that allows minors to buy e-cigs.
Governor Rick Snyder previously vetoed a similar bill, saying it didn't go far enough to regulate the industry.
A senate hearing on the bill is scheduled for 1 p.m. this afternoon.
