LANSING, Mich. — The new Popeyes fried chicken sandwich is spicing up the internet, and peoples' taste buds.
Chances are, if you've been on Twitter at all the past three days, you've seen the viral trend to try Popeyes fried chicken sandwich.
Reportedly a few Popeyes locations have run out of chicken sandwiches due to the unexpected demand.
Fox 47's Rachel Sweet went to Popeyes for the lunch rush to see what all the buzz was about.
Lansing has two Popeyes locations at M.L.K. Blvd. and Saginaw.
Both take out lines were packed.
One woman waiting in line said she went to three locations in Detroit but every place was out of chicken sandwiches.
A couple from Fowlerville drove to Lansing specifically to get one of the craze-worthy sandwiches.
As of Friday afternoon both Lansing locations still had sandwiches.
Now people are debating about which fast-food chain chicken sandwich is better: Popeyes or Chick-fil-A?
