Bicyclist receives minor injuries, police look for driver

A bicyclist received minor injuries in Jackson when a vehicle making a turn struck him, Jackson police say.

After the bicyclist was hit by the vehicle, the driver fled the scene. The hit-and-run happened around 9:40 pm, Monday, at the intersection of Wildwood and Steward avenues.

The suspect vehicle was turning onto Steward Avenue and hit the bicyclist that was crossing Steward Avenue.

The victim was treated at the scene, Jackson Police Department Deputy Chief Elmer Hitt said.

The vehicle is described as a white 1990s model Cadillac passenger car.
