When officers arrived they found 27-year-old Kevin Wirth brutally beaten and stabbed. His best friend is telling us she doesn't understand how anyone could hurt Kevin.
"The moment you meet him he impacts your life in just the best way. He was very light and very bubbly. He's kind of the life of the party. The atmosphere would immediately change when Kevin walks in the room," Christin Harris said.
Christin Harris says it wasn't until she found out about Wirth's death later that day that she realized he may have thought something was wrong earlier in the night and texted her about it.
"The concerns started happening around 2:40am. That's when he started messaging me originally that, 'He asked for my I.D. and took a picture. The guy said he sent it to his boss. He said I never felt so unsafe. He asked him why he did that. He said that he set his alarm... that he was looking for something around the house to defend himself if he needed to,'" she said.
Christin and Kevin have known each other for 10 years. She said he texted her that he brought a guy back home with him from his favorite bar- The Nuthouse.
Once he got home, he texted that things didn't feel right, he was not comfortable with his guest..
"I feel so endangered and then he went on to talk about the alarm system... if the door gets opened then police will come," she read.
She says she gave all of the information to police in hopes that it may help in the investigation.
