Sanders: White people don't know what it's like

Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders criticized on social media for comments he made during Sunday night's debate in Flint about living in the ghetto.

Sanders' use of the word "ghetto" is all the buzz on social media.

The criticism is because some say the comment implied that the ghetto is where all black people live or grew up.

The comment came after Sanders and rival Hillary Clinton were asked about any "racial blind spots" they may have.

Sanders said, "When you are white, you don't know what's like to be living in a ghetto, you don't know what its like to be poor, you don't know what its like to be hassled when you are walking down a street or dragged out of a car".

Many people took to twitter to discuss Sanders' comment pointing out there are many whites who are also poor.

The final consensus among many political critics was Sanders shouldn't have used the word ghetto at all.

Hillary Clinton's response to that same question was, "I can't pretend to have the experience that you have had and others have had. But I will do everything that I possibly can to not only do the best to understand and to empathize, but to tear down the barriers of systemic racism".
