A former basketball player who was badly wounded in a suicide bomb attack on a Brussels airport last year recommends survivors take recovery one step at a time.
WOOD-TV reports Sebastien Bellin of Battle Creek, who played for Oakland University outside Detroit and a Belgian professional team, spoke at Charlotte Middle School near Lansing a day after a suicide bomber killed at least 22 people and injured dozens of others at a concert in Manchester, England.
Bellin says when an experience of such magnitude occurs, "there's so much to overcome. My message to them is to not try and do everything at once. Try to break it down into really small steps."
Bellin says he's more confident and more fulfilled because he knows fear holds no power over him.
