LANSING, Mich. — The Better Business Bureau is warning about a recent scam that now has the attorney general involved.

Michigan's AG office has filed a lawsuit against a Florida-based "CA Certificate Service" which was doing business here as "MI Certificate Service."

The lawsuit says MI Certificate Service sent official looking forms to businesses that were looking to get a "certificate of good standing."

That certificate is optional, and only $10 from the State of Michigan.

But allegedly this businesses was charging $72 for a certificate, and the letters they sent lead business owners to believe they were required to purchase one and use the form provided by "MI Certificate Service."

If you think you were a victim of this scam you can report your case to the Michigan Attorney General's Office.
