Michigan's hotel industry is taking a stand against a pair of bills they say gives Airbnb an unfair advantage.
The legislation would prevent local communities from drafting special regulations when it comes to short term rentals like Airbnb.
That means people who rent out their homes using the website would not have to go through the same hurdles as hotels and other businesses.
The Michigan Lodging and Tourism Association says these bills would create an uneven playing field.
Supporters of the bills say they would give homeowners more property rights. We will keep track of them as they go through the legislative process.
