A suspect who police say was breaking into vehicles overnight was arrested, and the stolen property was recovered.
Battle Creek police officers responded to a report in the 100 block of Doverdale Drive for a suspect breaking into vehicles around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
When officers arrived, they were able to see the suspect, but he then fled on foot. Officers set up a perimeter and a K9 unit was called in to track the suspect, reports the police department.
A short time later, officers with the assistance of the K9 unit were able to locate and take the suspect into custody. Much of the stolen property was recovered, according to the department.
The suspect, an 18-year-old man from Battle Creek was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail for larceny and resisting arrest.
