Bath Middle School was placed on lockdown Friday, January 27, after a student made a threat. Principal Lorenda Jonas sent a letter to parents Monday saying the threat "was not valid" and no weapon was found.
The letter goes on to say there were other potential threats that the principal did not learn of until the weekend. It says the situation is under investigation and "appropriate precautions" have been put in place to make sure the middle school is safe.
The letter also asks parents to talk with their kids about how seriously even an insincere threat is taken and to encourage them to let a school employee know if someone brings a weapon to school.
