LANSING, Mich. — The Bath Public Art Committee is excited to show off the freshly painted community murals at Wiswasser Park.
The community mural will be officially recognized and dedicated during a ceremony from 6 to 7 p.m Wednesday, Aug. 28., in Wiswasser Park, Bath.
"The ceremony is important for several reasons," Bath Township Superintendent Dan Wietecha said "The mural was painted by members of the community, we want to recognize their involvement in our community."
Over 540 people participated in the murals creation over the course of the summer.
It is also the first and only piece of public art in Bath.
According to the Bath Public Art Committee, the mural’s theme focuses on the natural beauty and importance of the Bath Community, Wiswasser Park and Park Lake, such as swimming, kayaking, and fishing.
"The mural recognizes the importance of the lake," Wietecha said. "We think it's very important to acknowledge how meaningful this mural is."
Wietecha said he expects it to be a fairly low key affair but incredibly important and rewarding for the community
