LANSING, Mich. — The Eaton County Sheriff's Office had the opportunity to work with a bald eagle Tuesday.

The Eaton County Sheriff's Office said they received calls Tuesday morning about the bird that was found either sick or injured off north Gunnell Road.

The Eaton County Animal Control said they that although they typically don't handle wild animals, they knew they needed to get the eagle some help.

Animal control was able to safely capture the eagle and deliver it to a local facility for rehab.

They said once the eagle is healthy, they plan to release it back into the wild -- in the same area where it was originally found.
