LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - Back the Blue and Back the Badge Michigan hosted their first annual 5K run and walk Saturday at Adado Riverfront Park in Lansing.
Several vendors were there along with plenty of games and even an event to see who could outrun the cops.
The goal of the event is to let the community and officers get to know each other on a more personal level.
Back the Badge Michigan is a group that works to honor and support Michigan law enforcement.
They do fundraisers, like Back the Blue 5K, to help aid law enforcement with things such as K-9 trauma kits for local departments.
They also work with other support groups to raise funds to help the families of Michigan's fallen officers, injured officers and Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
