LANSING, Mich. — A second apartment complex has received pink tags from the City of Lansing in just two days.
Capitol Village Apartments received the same pink tags from Lansing's Code Compliance Office that Autumn Ridge Apartment and Townhomes received on Monday.
A statement by Autumn Ridge Management said, "The City of Lansing’s building department completed their inspection of Autumn Ridge in November 2019. After those inspections, we were provided a list of items the City wanted completed by the end of January 2020. We have diligently been working on all the disclosed items despite the very short deadline that was given. It is important to note the items the City wants done are not Life/Safety items and we find it irresponsible for them to leave misleading notices on our buildings implying otherwise. The misleading notices have created a stressful situation for our residents that was not warranted. The City inspector confirmed the notices were misleading when he communicated via email to one of our residents that ‘the City of Lansing does not intend to vacate any unit.’ We are hopeful the City sends a retraction letter once this matter is resolved to alleviate residents’ concerns that they must vacate their apartments.”
The Mayor's office said they've sent multiple notifications to the Autumn Ridge leasing office, saying that they've failed to comply with their code.
People that live at Autumn Ridge told News 10 Monday afternoon management has done little to no work on their apartments despite tenants putting in maintenance requests.
Capitol Village Apartments and Autumn Ridge Apartments are owned by Real Estate Service Solutions Company based in Southfield, MI.
