Auto insurance rates to increase by $10

Posted
and last updated

Your auto insurance is going to cost you a little more this summer.

The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association increased the fee drivers pay for long-term medical care to $160 per vehicle starting July 1st.

That's $10 more than you pay now.

That money is used to cover lifetime medical care for people seriously hurt in accidents.

The increase lasts through June of next year.
