One person is dead and another is injured after their ATV fell through the ice on a Montcalm County lake.
State police say four people were on the ATV when it went through the ice Saturday night around 8 p.m.
They had crossed into an area that was fenced off -- and fell through a hole in the ice.
The hole was made for a polar plunge earlier in the day.
Officers say the group was driving the ATV around the lake all day, saying the conditions were safe to do so. However they continued after dark, which may have contributed to the accident.
