Michigan's Attorney General's office is calling on an appeals court to restore the state's ban on straight party voting for the fall election.

A federal judge says the ban violate voters rights but Attorney General Bill Schuette stand behind the law.

Schuette wants the court to suspend the judge's injunction.

40 other states have a ban on straight ticket voting as well.
