LANSING, Mich. — Attorney General Dana Nessel has been on the job for nearly two months now and in just a few hours she's expected to give her first public update on some major cases.

These are all cases Nessel inherited from former Attorney General Bill Schuette when she took office the first of the year.

One of the investigations is how Michigan State University handled the Larry Nassar scandal.

Last December, the former special prosecutor hired by Schuette said MSU made it virtually impossible to discover the truth.

So far, three high ranking officials at MSU have been charged by the AG's Office.

They are former MSU President Lou Anna Simon, former MSU gymnastics coach Kathie Klages, and former College of Osteopathic Medicine Dean William Strampel.

Nessel will also have an update on the Attorney General's Office into potential sexual abuse by clergy within the Catholic church.

The Attorney General's Office seized records from the Lansing diocese and every other diocese in Michigan last October.

The third investigation is into the Flint water crisis.

A total of 15 people have been criminally charged in the case.

Seven of those people have reached plea deals with prosecutors that left them with no criminal record.

No one has stood trial yet, but both former State Health Director Nick Lyon and Michigan's Chief Medical Executive Dr. Eden Wells have been bound over to trial on felony charges.

Attorney General Nessel, the head of state police and the Solicitor General will all be at Thursday's public briefing.

It begins at 10:45 a.m.

FOX 47 will have a crew at Thursday's briefing.
