On Thursday in Lansing, communications company AT&T presented a contribution of $5,000 to the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument Fund (MLEOMMF).
This money will support the construction of a monument commemorating all Michigan law enforcement officers that were killed in the line duty.
The State of Michigan is also contributing with a matching fund grant, making the gift to the MLEOMMF a total of $15,000.
AT&T officials presented the check to board members from the MLEOMMF Commission on Thursday at the Michigan Historical Museum.
"I'd like to thank AT&T for their generous contribution to the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument Fund," said MLEOMMF Commission board chair John F. Szczubelek. "This contribution certainly makes a difference in our efforts to fund the construction of a monument that honors and respects the sacrifices made by the officers that have lost their lives serving communities throughout the state."
