Police say a man accused of robbing two pharmacies was arrested during his attempt to rob a third one in Jackson County Tuesday.

The first robbery occurred at 4:41 PM. at the Welcome Pharmacy, located in the 300 block of W. Prospect St. The suspect displayed a handgun and fled the store prior to the officers arriving.

The second robbery occurred at 5:05 PM at the CVS Pharmacy, located in the 600 block of N. West Ave. The same suspect description was provided in the second robbery.

While officers were still investigating the first two robberies, calls were made to other pharmacies in the area to warn them of a man targeting pharmacies in the area.

It was during one of these calls that it was discovered that the suspect was inside the Walgreens, located in the 1300 block of N. West Ave. This final robbery occurred at 5:36 PM. Officers were able to arrive on scene and surround the business while the suspect was still inside.

As officers entered the front of the business, the suspect ran out a back door but was quickly apprehended by additional officers. A handgun, money, and other evidence were recovered.
There were no injuries reported in any of the incidents.

A 23-year-old man is currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing. His name will not be released until he's arraigned.
