The man charged in the fatal overdose of an Ingham County Jail inmate has been arrested.

Andrew Dwayne Navarre, 33, of Big Rapids, was arraigned today on one count of Delivery of methadone causing death, one count of delivering methadone, and a habitual offender charge.

Navarre was arrested by the Michigan State Police Fugitive Task Force Team.

Mark Rhodus, 39, of Monroe, was found dead inside his cell at the Ingham County Jail facility on September 12th. Tests showed Rhodus had methadone, wellbutrin and cocaine in his system. Medical examiners said he died of multiple drug intoxication.

Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth says Navarre was the only other inmate in Rhodus's cell block that had a prescription for methadone, which is given out to combat symptoms of opioid withdraw.

Wellbutrin is also given out inside the jail, but Wriggelsworth says Navarre did not have a prescription for it. Investigators are still working to figure out how cocaine got into the facility.

Navarre was denied bond and is due back in court on December 7th.
