Summer is just around the corner and a new study suggest pet owners are not prepared for the dangers of fleas and ticks.
Merck Animal Health found that 33% of pet owners do not give their pets regular flea and tick treatments, and 48% fail to take their pets in for routine vet exams.
Fleas and ticks can spread serious illnesses to dogs and cats, including Lyme disease
Experts suggest you consult with a vet to get your furry friends the proper protection they need, like flea and tick medication.
Plus, regularly check your animals for any infestations.
And remember that indoor pets are just as much at risk as outdoor pets.
