An online application that allows residents to report potholes, illegal dumping and other problems to city officials now has new categories related to the upkeep of Detroit parks.
Damaged park equipment, restroom issues, tall grass and weeds, graffiti and trash pickup are included on the Improve Detroit app.
The city says the application has helped resolve more than 70,000 issues over the past two years.
Mayor Mike Duggan says that by using smartphones "anyone can report an issue at a park directly to the staff who can take care of it."
The free Improve Detroit app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Duggan's office says about 300 city parks now receive regular maintenance compared to only 25 when he took office in January 2014.
