An animal cruelty investigation is underway Tuesday in Eaton County. Animal control officers and Eaton County Sherrif's deputies swarmed a home on the 7000 block of West Willow Highway in Delta Township.
They told FOX 47 News the investigation is in its early stages, but say the investigation stems from an animal cruelty complaint.
FOX 47 was at the scene and saw officers preparing dozens of cages outside the home throughout the day. Also, several animal control vehicles were parked in the driveway, along with Eaton County Sheriff's deputies.
When walking up to the house, our camera crew saw a chicken inside a cage, however authorities are not confirming what kind of animals are involved.
One neighbor, who wanted to remain anonymous, lives just a few houses down told us he didn't even know someone lived here, let alone animals.
"I've never seen anybody there, ever. No cars. No animal noises or anything that's why its kind of a shock. I thought it was always abandoned I was waiting for it to go on sale or something," said the neighbor.
This is an ongoing investigation and we will keep you updated when more information becomes available.
