Amanda Thomashow, the first graduate student at Michigan State University to file a Title IX complaint against Larry Nassar will speak at a rally at the state capitol Thursday.
The rally starts at 9:00 a.m. Thursday and is called the "Survivor Ally Empowerment Day".
It's a day of advocacy and empowerment for survivors of sexual assault.
At 10:00 a.m. the event will move inside the senate chamber where East Lansing Senator Curtis Hertel Junior will present a resolution declaring April 26th as "Survivor Empowerment" day.
At 1:00 p.m. survivors and allies will be able to share their stories with lawmakers.
Two Board of Trustees seats at Michigan State University will be open this year and Thomashow is considering running for one of those seats.
