A Jackson County man made quite the discovery in his backyard Thursday.
The family of Barry Wilson, Sr. told us the alligator was found near Wilson's Hanover Township home on Roundtree Road.
He contacted the Jackson County Sheriff's Office after spotting the animal.
Wilson posed for a picture with the animal with a sheriff's deputy before the alligator was taken away to the Jackson County Animal Shelter.
The shelter shared a picture of the animal on its Facebook, in hopes of finding the owner.
