All you need to know about Silver Bells In The City

Posted

A Lansing tradition takes place this Friday in the city. It's the 33rd annual Silver Bells in the City festival.

The main attraction of the event is the 21st annual electric light parade. There's also a community sing along that happens around 7:20 p.m. just before the lighting of the State Christmas Tree. This takes place at the corner of Michigan and Capitol Avenue. The song for the sing-a-long is "Silver Bells," of course.

There will be live music and a visit from Santa and his reindeer along with extended holiday shopping hours. And if the weather is right, folks can enjoy fireworks over the Capitol dome.

There's a 5K run/walk on Saturday, November 18 that will be awarding participants for wearing the best holiday costumes. The run/walk takes place on Capitol Avenue at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

Brunch with Santa is happening Saturday and Sunday morning at 8 a.m. That's $20 per person, children 2 and under are free. You'll want to register in advance. The brunch takes place at Troppo.
