Nearly 25,000 girls have joined Boy Scouts of American since their program first welcomed girls in February.
In Michigan about 700 girls have joined 86 boy scout troops.
One all girls boy scout group in Ionia County is working their way up to becoming Eagle scouts.
Last year, girls were eligible to join Boy Scouts of America.
There are multiple all girls boy scout troops around Michigan and throughout the nation.
This was the first year for troop 185G.
Troop Master Holly Hector said she wanted to give these girls a place to learn and grow their skills.
"They get to learn leadership skills, they get to learn life-skills," Hector said.
Troop 185G started with only five members now they are up to 10.
"We've doubled our troop since we started in March," Hector said.
Scout member Emily Riess said growing up watching her brother in scouts inspired her to join.
"When I was there I wish I could've learned what everybody else did when I was around," says Riess.
Now that she is in a troop she wants to move up the rank just like her brothers.
"Being able to do this is like finally being able to follow through everything my families been doing," added Riess.
Troop Master says the skills gained in boy scouts are good for everyone to know.
"Two of the main ones are knife safety and fire safety which are pretty big things for kids to learn whether there boys or girls," says Hector.
