LANSING, Mich. — The "all clear" has been given after authorities responded to a gas leak at a home in south Lansing.

Authorities responded to the home on the corner of Holmes and Harold Street just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

They said that residents there were installing a new fence post when they hit a Consumer's Energy gas line.

The surrounding area was blocked off for some time, although no one was evacuated.

Consumer's Energy said this kind of incident is common and is not usually hazardous as long as it's reported quickly.
