LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is responding Wednesday after former MSU Dean of Osteopathic Medicine William Strampel was sentenced to jail.
In a statement Nessel said "Today's sentencing sends a resoundingly clear message to public officials: if you brandish your power to demean, insult, harass, objectify and abuse women, you will be held accountable."

Those sentences will be served concurrently.
Strampel is the first person charged in the 2017 investigation regarding how the university handled complaints against imprisoned sports doctor Larry Nassar.
