LANSING, Mich. — Michigan's Dana Nessel joined 13 other Attorneys General on Tuesday in an effort to uphold a U.S. Court of Appeals ruling.
The ruling will allow states and local governments to implement certain gun regulations.
The AGs argue the Second Amendment's, 'Right To Bear Arms' does not prevent states from implementing common sense gun safety.
“I am proud to join with my colleagues to preserve the right for state and local governments to implement common-sense gun safety regulations,” said Nessel.
The goal is to allow smaller governing bodies to protect their residents.
Nessel joins the Attorneys General of Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and the District of Columbia in filing this brief.
